General Stevedores, a Houston-based steel and iron supplier, moved into a 25,800-sf building with a short-term commitment for 630 McFarland St. The deal's sole broker, John Nicholson in the Houston office of Grubb & Ellis Co., tells GlobeSt.com that General Stevedores bounced into the building from next-door space, which is now leased to CDC Inc., a local design/construction firm specializing in interiors.
CDC took over the 10,900-sf building, also 630 McFarland St., with a short-term commitment. According to Nicholson, CDC relocated from a nearby building of about the same size. The buildings were on the lease market for 26 cents per sf.
