Lane recently held a meeting with city planners and others to discuss:How to work with developers and builders who want to invest in Fraser; how the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals could reduce the time of approval of pending activities; moving the city post office to the downtown area; and fostering publicity for new projects and revisions of plans to promote economic growth in the city.

Lane, who is also a developer, said she invited those members who she said have the most knowledge about the subjects. "Because of the [state] budget cuts, I need to generate revenues," Lane said. "The only way I feel we can do this is to draw in business. I have to assure them that we're going to be user friendly. In the past we haven't been."
