Fraser Mayor Seeks to Spur Development

FRASER, MI-Mayor Marilyn Lane recently convened a meeting of city leaders in an effort to promote development in her community.

FRASER, MI-Fraser Mayor Marilyn Lane, who took office the first of the year, is seeking ways to boost development in this small Macomb County city. Fraser, like many older communities in the Detroit area, has been struggling with closing industrial firms and a declining job base.

Lane recently held a meeting with city planners and others to discuss:How to work with developers and builders who want to invest in Fraser; how the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals could reduce the time of approval of pending activities; moving the city post office to the downtown area; and fostering publicity for new projects and revisions of plans to promote economic growth in the city.
