AirTran Plans New Call Center

CARROLLTON, GA-The Orlando-based discount airline is leasing an estimated 50,000-sf facility near the State University of West Georgia where up to 200 employees, mostly college students, will handle reservations and other customer calls later this month.

CARROLLTON, GA-Although based in Orlando with a corporate and administrative staff of about 350, AirTran Airways plans to open a new call center this month here in a leased facility new the State University of West Georgia where up to 200 employees will handle reservations and other customer calls, the discount airline confirms.

The estimated 50,000-sf center is about 40 miles southwest of Downtown Atlanta. AirTran also confirms an additional 50 employees will be moving to the Atlanta area to work at the company’s new 100,000-sf maintenance hangar near the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in May.
