Motel Chain Plans Detroit-Area Renovations

DETROIT-Motel chain Red Roof Inns says it has plans to renovate 12 of its Detroit area properties, part of the company's ongoing upgrade of its properties in various parts of the country.

DETROIT-Red Roof Inns says it will renovate 12 of its motels in the Detroit area as part of a national effort the company is calling “Red’s New Rooms.” In addition to the Detroit-area inns, the company says it is beginning renovation work on nine locations in the Philadelphia area and four in the Cleveland area. Once those projects are complete, Red Roof said it will renovate four Chicago area inns.

“Red Roof Inns has re-imagined the ordinary in every detail of the room,” says Michael Saarty, manager of architectural services for Accor, the French company that owns of Red Roof Inns and a number of other North American hospitality brands. Renovation of nine Baltimore Red Roof Inns, five Columbus Inns and eight Washington D.C. Inns was completed in June 2003.
