The 650,000-sf project will consist of Boggs & Partners-designed angular structures with glass and metal facades, and is expected to cost nearly $136 million to complete. "These buildings will create a striking landmark that symbolizes the high-tech cluster of firms specializing in homeland security and defense here in Anne Arundel County," says Anne Arundel county executive Janet S. Owens.

The first structure to be developed will be Windermere's home, a 247,500-sf tower that will serve as the office complex's anchor. The 11-story structure--which will occupy a spot that is highest elevation point in the county--will become the area's tallest building. Windermere is expected to relocate its corporate headquarters with its 400 employees from the existing structure on the property to this building when construction wraps up 2006. The company will be the predominant tenant at the address.

The second building, to be completed in 2008, will be eight stories tall and feature 200,000 sf of space. And the final phase entails another eight-story, 200,000-sf structure that will be ready for use in 2011. "The Windermere office towers," says Windermere president Robert G. Pozgar, "will announce to the world that Anne Arundel County has arrived as a center of excellence for technology-based development."
