Area industrial brokers tell GlobeSt.com the $500,000-per-acre offer at $11.48 per sf is in line with recent land sales in and around Alpharetta which has become a magnet for corporations and relocating businesses in recent years.

Brokers familiar with Smoltz's offer tell GlobeSt.com King's Ridge and the baseball player made the bid for the Milton High School property at this time because another potential school site has been contested in the courts for four years by neighbors objecting to new development. The site is on Freemanville Road in northwestern Fulton County.
