ROCKVILLE, MD-Leasing activity–everything from renewals to expansions to new contracts–has been lively at Metro Park North, the 900,000-sf business compound off I-270. As of late, five tenants have committed or recommitted to a total of 70,000 sf at the 17-structure office and R&D campus. And there is plenty of room to accommodate the new and expanding tenant base at the 53-acre complex of single-story R&D buildings and multi-level office structures.

The average asking rent for class A office space in the Northern Rockville/Shady Grove region is $26 per sf, and the average asking rent for flex properties in Montgomery County is at an average $15.50 per sf, according to Advantis Real Estate Services’ Year-End 2003 reports for the office and flex/industrial markets.
