DETROIT-Can the city keep another hotel busy? Operators of a new hotel that opened in the city this week says it is already sold out for the Super Bowl in 2006, the Ryder Cup this September, major-league baseball’s All Star Game in 2005, and the Lions Clubs convention this July.

All that before the hotel even opened.

Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Inc. has opened its newly constructed 198-room Hilton Garden Inn in Downtown’s Harmonie Park. The hotel at 351 Gratiot Ave. is located about a away from Comerica Park, Ford Field and Compuware’s new corporate headquarters in the Downtown area. It is the first brand new hotel Downtown since the Atheneum opened in Greektown in 1993.
