As part of the project, all 727 guest rooms and suites with private balconies were renovated and designed in muted tones and the Tiki pool now features waterfalls and a children's slide surrounded by lava rock formations and landscaping. In addition, a $7.5-million enhancement was made to the property's Audubon-endorsed Rookery at Marco golf course, which was redesigned by famed golf course architect Bob Cupp Jr. The resort's vaulted atrium lobby, 20,000-sf Islands Ballroom (formerly the Grand Ballroom) and signature restaurants, Kurrents and Tropiks, were also redesigned and renovated.
The Marco Island Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa has seven restaurants and lounges, two outdoor pools, a children's wading pool, a whirlpool, a wave runner, a catamaran, and kayak and sailboat rentals.
