Builder Selected for Five Structures at Virginia Gateway

GAINESVILLE, VA-Developer the Peterson Cos. has tapped RW Murray Co. to construct five buildings in the multi-structure, 730,000-sf mixed-use project known as Virginia Gateway. The development will occupy 70 acres at the intersection of I-66 and Route 29. RW Murray’s portion of the project will account for a total of approximately 115,000 sf. The construction cost for this “town-center” style segment, not including site work, is about $7 million. “These projects are indicative of the continuous growth that Prince William County is experiencing,” RW Murray Co. president Bill Fairchild notes.

RW Murray will construct four retail structures that will be anywhere from 13,000 sf to 16,000 sf in size, and the Gateway Commerce Center, a 57,000-sf flex facility that will consist of office and retail space and a fitness center. “Additional office space is essential to meeting the growing demand of businesses looking to expand or locate in Prince William County,” Prince William Board of County Supervisors chairman Sean T. Connaughton explains.
