H&H Development Plans 16-Story Condo Development

MIAMI-Another condominium project is planned for the South Florida skyline, as H&H Development Co. is planning to develop Mediterranea, a 16-story, 181-unit boutique condo project in the city.Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter, and the project has a planned completion date of the fourth quarter of 2005. It is being developed on 1.8 acres at 117 N.W. LeJeune Road, between Northwest 1st and 2nd streets, on the site of the landmark restaurant El Sid. The project will feature one- and two-bedroom units and penthouses. Prices for one-bedroom/one-bath units start at $178,000, and split two-bedroom/two-bath units are priced from the mid-$200,000s.

Developer Harvey Hernandez says the project fills a demand for affordable luxury condos in a desirable location, as it will be close to Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Downtown and Brickell Avenue, and the beaches. Part of the Mediterranea philosophy is attractive pricing. “Few new luxury condominiums offer residences from under $200,000,” says Hernandez. “Buyers have been very responsive to the total package value.”
