This compares to multi-family units running at 48.6% in 2003, 43.7% in 2002, 41.5% in 2001, and 37.5% in 2000.

In February, were a total of 597 permits (down 4% from February 2003) issued for 905 planned units (down 13% from February 2003) at a value of $176.7 million. The value is up 5% from February 2003.

"We expect 2004 will continue to be a very strong housing market," says Rick Kot, 2004 president of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities and president of R.A. Kot Homes Inc.

For planned units in February, Inver Grove Heights repeated as No. 1 with 151 units, followed by Blaine with 48, Stillwater with 47, Rosemount with 44, and Lakeville with 43.
