GlobeSt.com UPDATE: Panel Drops Anti-Ballpark Measure

ST. PAUL-The St. Paul Charter Commission votes down a proposal that would have allowed voters to decide in November whether to forbid the city from spending tax dollars on a new Minnesota Twins ballpark.

ST. PAUL-The St. Paul Charter Commission has rejected a proposed charter amendment that would bar city taxes or funds from being use to build a stadium. If approved, the measure would have been on the Nov. 2 ballot for approval.

What’s more, it could have muddied discussions about efforts to get a new stadium in St. Paul for the Minnesota Twins.
