Renovation Begins at Asbury Compound Apartment Complex

GAITHERSBURG, MD-Work has begun for the development of Asbury Park View, an upscale apartment complex within the 130-acre Asbury Methodist Village private retreat. The new residential facility will emerge from the renovation of an existing building and the development of a new eight-story structure to offer 65 luxury residential units. Donohoe Construction Co. is spearheading the construction activity on behalf of property owner and developer Asbury Methodist Village. The project is expected to cost $20 million to complete, Donohoe officials tell GlobeSt.com.

Located at 211 Russell Ave. in Montgomery County, Asbury Park View is currently an approximately 130,000-sf building that was developed back in 1985. The new residence, which will bear only the façade and bones of the original building, will also feature common rooms and a parking facility, all surrounded by a pond and acres of woodlands. The sprawling compound itself is dotted with tennis courts, putting greens, and acres of parcels holding various apartment and assisted living residences. Construction of Asbury Park View is scheduled to wrap up in mid-2005.
