Middleton Shopping Centre represents the majority of the retail offering in thetown centre and now Warner plans to build a 45,000 sf extension to the existing 284,000 sf scheme. Warner Estate will also reconfigure and extend the centre's current park.
The extension will provide space for several new 6,000-sf and 10,000-sf stores. Existing tenants include Tesco, Wilkinson, WH Smith, New Look, Argos and Boots.
Richard Moore, Warner Estate property director says, "The project, coupled with the redevelopment of the transport interchange, will give Middleton a radical revamp over the next few years."
Work on the major development is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2005and will be completed by 2006.
