Hospital Continues Area's Building Spree

MOUNT CLEMENS, MI-More than $250 million worth of hospital and healthcare construction is budgeted or has been spent on the east side of the Detroit metro area.

MOUNT CLEMENS, MI-Mount Clemens General Hospital dedicated a new cancer treatment facility at the hospital this week, the latest in a more than $250 million worth of construction on major healthcare centers on the east side of the Detroit metropolitan area. Also this week, GlobeSt.com learned William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak outlined plans for two medical complexes in Macomb County.

Beaumont plans to begin construction in May on a $25-million two-building complex on M-59 and Tilch Road in Macomb Township. The complex will feature a four-story medical office building and a two-story building equipped for outpatient surgery, physical and occupational therapy and other services, a Beaumont spokeswoman says.

Last week, Beaumont submitted plans to Warren city officials for a proposed building on Common Road, just east of Van Dyke. Financial details of that plan, which calls for a 40,000-sf office building, have not been released.
