The recent warehouse space addition is in a bay adjoining its initial space at 8901 N.W. 33rd St. The company signed a five-year lease worth more than $1 million, or about $6.89 per sf. Westpointe Business Center is located at 87th Avenue and Northwest 33rd Street. The park, built in 1999, has a total of 284,637 sf of industrial space. It has managed to fill up in a county that has an overall vacancy rate of more than 9% and an inventory of nearly 156.3 million sf, according to recent quarterly industrial studies of Miami-Dade County.

Terranova Corp. and Scott Sime of CB Richard Ellis negotiated the new lease as a group effort for Westpointe Business Center. Terranova handles the management of the property, while CBRE handles the leasing. Terranova could not disclose the owner of the property.

Freedom Fresh is a wholesaler of produce. The company carries a full line of conventional and organic fruits, vegetables and herbs, including specialty and exotic products. Its distribution facility includes eight independent climate- and humidity-controlled coolers; a 10,000-sf refrigerated loading dock with 24 loading doors, pre-cooling and an emergency generator; as well as administrative and sales offices. The company is led by chairman and CEO Walter Vazquez Sr., and president and chief operating officer Walter Vazquez Jr.
