Suburb Gives Hotel 60 Days to Shape Up

HAZEL PARK, MI-The city council tells a local hotel to straighten up or face possible closure. Among the infractions are lack of paperwork with the city's building department and city clerk's office.

HAZEL PARK, MI-The 168-room, nine-story La Casa Inn & Suites is working on a new city-imposed deadline. The Hazel Park city council has voted unanimously give the hotel operators 60 days to come within compliance of city codes or be shut down.

Among the irritants at the property, according to the city, is a lighted sign visible from I-75 in which the hotel name is misspelled.
