Universal Health Selling Two California Facilities

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA-Locally based Universal Health Services is selling two California hospitals it acquired earlier this year to Catholic Healthcare West. The hospitals generate a combined $80 million in revenue.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA-Universal Health Services Inc. has signed an agreement to sell the 112-bed French Medical Center located in San Luis Obispo, CA, and 65-bed Arroyo Grande Community Hospital located in Arroyo Grande, CA, to Catholic Healthcare West.

The sale is expected to occur by May 31. The negotiated price is not being released by the parties involved at this time, however; in January, Universal paid a combined $120 million for those two properties as well as a third, the 228-bed Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA, according to SEC filings.
