City Overrides Residents in Apartment Fight

ORLANDO-Developer Alan Ginsburg and his CED Construction Co. of Maitland, FL plan to break ground by May on Belle Isle Apartments, a 336-unit affordable housing complex on Conway Road near Belle Isle in south Orlando.

ORLANDO-Despite vigorous protests from area residents, city attorney Wayne Rich has ruled developer Alan Ginsburg’s planned 336-unit Belle Isle Apartments venture in south Orlando meets the city’s zoning code for the estimated $20-million project on Conway Road near Belle Isle.

Ginsburg’s CED Construction Co. of suburban Maitland, FL plans to break ground at the 22-acre site by May, city planners confirm for GlobeSt.com. Residents tell GlobeSt.com they are not against the development of affordable housing in their neighborhood but fear the existing roads leading to the site are not adequate to handle a new wave of traffic.
