Food Basics Takes Over 10 Farmer Jack Locations

DETROIT-A sister grocery chain to Farmer Jack has filled 10 vacant locations in the city and suburbs. Both chains are owned by the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.

DETROIT-Ten former grocery stores around the metro area, including three in the city, have reopened under a new nameplate. The Food Basics chain is opening the stores all in former Farmer Jack locations, which closed earlier this year. Farmer Jack and Food Basics are both owned by the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.

The local stores are at 19150 Telegraph, 8665 Rosa Parks and 8000 West Outer Dr. Suburban locations include 9023 Joseph Campau in Hamtramck, 19230 Harper in Harper Woods, 14100 Woodward in Highland Park, 2400 W. Fort in Lincoln Park, 3600 Oakwood in Melvindale, 3995 E. 14 Mile in Sterling Heights and 35400 E. Michigan in Wayne.
