Unicorp Hires Young From Trammell Crow

ORLANDO-Locally based Unicorp National Developments Inc., which calls itself the largest developer of Eckerd drug stores in the US, has hired Amy Young, former senior associate at Trammell Crow Co., as its new director of leasing.Young will oversee the leasing for all of Unicorp’s planned and existing retail centers, including major projects such as Baldwin Park Village Center in east Orlando and Grande Plaza. The Central Florida Commercial Real Estate Society named Young 2003 Overall Top Retail Producer for handling leases valued at over $13.4 million, says Unicorp president Chuck Whittall. At Crow, Young handled landlord representation for institutional and local developers, marketing and leasing a portfolio of over 1.5 million sf.”Our plans for growth dictated that we develop this new position and fill it with a proven professional,” Whittall says. “Amy’s experience and knowledge of the marketplace made her our first choice.”Unicorp has 1.5 million sf of retail projects developed or under construction. “Typically, we are working on 40 to 50 projects at a time in some form or another–whether it is under contract, under construction or still in the planning stage,” Whittall tells GlobeSt.com.Young is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, serving as co-chairperson of the Next Generation Orlando Program. She is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Central Florida Real Estate Society.
