Nokia Picks Westchester for Regional Office

HARRISON, NY-In a study that pitted Connecticut against New York, Nokia Inc. reports it has chosen Westchester County as the site for its new regional corporate headquarters. The deal involves an investment by the mobile communications firm of approximately $37 million.

HARRISON, NY-Nokia Inc. has selected Westchester as the site for a regional corporate office. The mobile communications firm will initially occupy approximately 50,000 sf in a temporary office in White Plains while renovations are made to its permanent headquarters site at 102 Corporate Park Dr. here.

Nokia will initially occupy space at 709 Westchester Ave., while renovations are under way at the vacant 102 Corporate Park Dr. that will serve as the headquarters for Nokia’s Enterprise Solutions business group. Nokia has purchased the property from EastRidge Properties for $7.6 million, according to Nokia officials. EastRidge Properties is also the owner of 709 Westchester Ave.

Nokia plans to spend nearly $30 million in improvements to 102 Corporate Park Dr. The company plans take occupancy of space at 709 Westchester Ave. by July and intends to relocate to the building 12 months to 18 months after.
