Meredith Baumann, spokesperson for the BRA, tells GlobeSt.com that this final approval OKs the developer's agreement with Harvard in which the university agreed to purchase 170 of the project's 580 units for its student and staff housing. The funding from Harvard enabled the developers to move forward with the project.

The project, which is to be developed on a two-acre site on Boylston and Kilmarnock streets and Brookline Avenue, is supposed to serve as the anchor for the revitalization of the Boylston Street corridor in the Fenway. In addition to the housing, the project includes about 50,000 sf of retail space on the ground floor and underground parking. The development will replace what is currently a surface parking lot.
