Lane Promotes Haefner; Hires Kahn as CFO

ATLANTA-Lane Co. has created two new positions aimed at strengthening the locally based firm’s presence in the Southeast’s multifamily and commercial markets.Dan Haefner, who joined Lane in April 2001 as an investment manager, moves up to senior vice president and chief information officer. He will oversee the firm’s information technology, asset management, ancillary services, new business development and customer relationship management departments.Derek Kahn is the firm’s new chief financial officer responsible for supervising risk management functions and corporate and property accounting. He is a former professional at Faucett Consulting, Taylor & Associates, Faucett New Media, IRT Property Co. and BDO Seidman. “We believe that creating the CIO and CFO positions, and choosing such well-qualified and trusted individuals to fill those slots, will continue to enhance Lane Co.’s already strong market position,” says Lane chief operating officer Bill Donges.
