Bookstore Comes to Elmhurst

PORTSMOUTH, VA-Elmhurst Square I, a 63,000-sf shopping center in the 5600 block of Portsmouth Blvd., has opened its doors to a new tenant. Agape of Virginia has committed to 1,100 sf of space at the neighborhood retail property to house its Agape Christian Bookstore. The terms of Agape’s lease with shopping center owner Elmhurst Square Properties have not been disclosed. However, Divaris Real Estate Inc., which handles leasing and management activity at the property, markets the retail space for $13 per sf.

Located in an area between I-264 and I-664, Elmhurst Square I features a Food Lion grocery store as its anchor, and boasts a variety of additional occupants, including a branch of Consumer Credit Counseling of Virginia, Northern Star Credit Union, and Rudy & Kelly hair salon. With the bookstore’s lease, Elmhurst Square’s occupancy level reaches beyond the 90% mark.
