When complete, the development will feature a medical office complex, a Hilton Hotel and conference center, and office buildings on a total of 18 acres.

The first phase calls for a four-story, 100,000-sf medical facility that will provide urgent care, some minor outpatient surgery and several medical specialties. Each project is to take no more than 18 months from the time it starts, according to the city.

DOCO purchased the property, which is requiring extensive site preparation work, from the city's Tax Increment Finance Authority several years ago for $1. The city was seeking a project that would generate tax revenues and bring in jobs.
