POMPANO BEACH, FL-The six-year-old, locally based commercial real estate firm Jaffe Properties has joined forces with Lasman Property Group and has an aggressive acquisition plan to increase its portfolio by up to 100%.”We’re looking to double our portfolio–that’ll be our first benchmark,” Mark J. Lasman tells GlobeSt.com. Currently, Jaffe Properties has an approximately $120-million portfolio. The integrated real estate company will identify assets in locations where it is interested in owning, leasing, managing and constructing in its drive to double the portfolio within the next two or three years, he says. “We do plan to focus on the southeast, with an emphasis on South Florida,” Lasman adds.The Lasman Property Group brings the expertise, track record and staff to the company, Lasman says. The two companies worked together before, and, according to Lasman, “we just clicked.” He says, “There’s a nice blend of youth and seasoned veterans.” Besides Lasman, who will join Jaffe as director, the group includes David M. Lasman, joining as vice president of acquisitions, and Eric Sheneman, as director of marketing.”You meet some of the nicest people over a business deal,” Gary Kaminsky, executive director of Jaffe, says in a statement. “The Lasmans sold our existing headquarters building. Most recently, he was director of the Marcus & Millichap’s National Retail Group.David Lasman, previously an associate with Marcus & Millichap, is responsible for directing the leasing activities of Jaffe Properties’ South Florida portfolio and leading the company’s efforts to acquire well-located retail and office properties in the southeastern US.For Jaffe Properties, Sheneman will be responsible for market research and property analysis. He has a master’s degree from the A. Alfred Taubman College of Urban & Regional Planning. His knowledge of trends in South Florida real estate is expected to assist Jaffe Properties in acquiring and leasing multi-tenant retail and office investments.Jaffe Properties was formed in 1998. Its current portfolio includes shopping centers, office buildings and developable land.
