Potential tenants for the development include upscale retailers such as J. Crew, Banana Republic, Williams-Sonoma and Borders.

Shelby Township developer Simone Mauro, president of Modena Development, calls his planned development a "lifestyle center."

Initial plans for the Shelby lifestyle center call for 12 freestanding buildings with about 300,000 sf for restaurants, theaters and retail stores. There also will be outdoor seating areas, park benches and walking paths.
