Owner Taps Sperry Van Ness to Market Clairemont Village

SAN DIEGO-The Irvine-based company will look for a buyer for the 10-building, 127,000-sf grocery and drugstore-anchored shopping center.

SAN DIEGO-Sperry Van Ness has been tapped to find a buyer for Clairemont Village, a 10-building, 127,000-sf shopping center. The grocery and drugstore-anchored shopping center, currently owned by Shooshani Developers LLC, is located at 3005 Clairemont Dr.”Clairemont Village represents a very unique investment opportunity with potential to be repositioned, renovated or redeveloped,” says Gwen MacKenzie, vice president of Irvine-based Sperry Van Ness. MacKenzie, along with Brad Umansky, vice president of Sperry Van Ness; Christopher Wilson, president of Wilson Commercial Real Estate; and Cynthia Bell will market the property to potential investors.According to MacKenzie, the current owners have taken preliminary steps to explore the addition of a mixed-use development component on the site.Located a few minutes off the I-5, near the communities of La Jolla and Pacific Beach, Clairemont Village is anchored by Keil’s, an independent grocer, Rite Aid, Hometown Buffet, McDonalds, Carls Jr. and Blockbuster Video. “The current owner has purposely held many of the tenants on a month-to-month basis to allow a potential buyer the maximum flexibility to utilize their creativity and expertise to create maximum value at Clairemont Village,” adds MacKenzie.
