Richard McKinnon, director of brokerage services for the Grossman Cos. Inc., of Quincy, MA, represented the property owner, a realty trust of which Louis Grossman, president of Grossman, is the managing partner. Xpress Global was represented by Ed Jaroz of CB Richard Ellis. Xpress Global's on-site service center manager, Marty Monahan, notes, "This may be the best location near Logan Airport."
McKinnon tells GlobeSt.com that the air freight warehouse market in this area is very strong. "There is limited space with immediate access to the airport," he points out. "It's a niche market." Mckinnon notes that the Grossman Cos., owns five of the buildings on McClennan Highway which are 100% occupied. A 120,000-sf building at 440 McClennan Highway, which with Grossman Cos.' buildings comprises the bulk of the air freight warehouse market here, is currently 90% occupied.
