Cousins' Charlesworth Retiring; Fleming Moves Up

ATLANTA-Cousins Properties Inc.’s Tom G. Charlesworth, who wore three corporate hats at the same time as executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief investment officer, is retiring on a full-time basis from the locally based REIT at year end. But he plans to be available on a part-time schedule.

In a prepared statement, Cousins president and CEO Tom Bell didn’t say why Charlesworth is retiring at the age of 55. Charlesworth will continue to serve as executive vice president, chief investment officer and senior advisor to Bell on a part-time basis.

James A. Fleming, the REIT’s senior vice president and general counsel, will be named executive vice president and chief financial officer in August. “While we very much regret losing Tom Charlesworth’s full-time service, we are fortunate to have a strong team in place, with talent executives able to step up and assume larger responsibilities,” Bell says.
