Grubb & Ellis senior vice president and director of industrial services Jon Savoy represented both parties in the lease as well as Quadrants, Inc. in the sale of 5.63 acres of land to First Industrial Development.

Mohawk's site was selected for its proximity to its customer base, Savoy says. First Industrial Development is constructing a 61,000-sf distribution facility. The remaining 19,000 square feet is being marketed by Grubb & Ellis and will be available for occupancy in December 2004.

Quadrants, Inc. will serve as the general contractor for the building construction.

In another recent transaction for Grubb & Ellis, industrial group team members Geoff Hill and Dan Labes represented property owner Broder & Sachse in the lease of 22,080 sf of industrial space in Madison Heights to New Echelon, Inc.The property was selected for its proximity to local freeways and fully air-conditioned shop area. Occupancy is expected in this month.
