Hughes Construction Relocates HQ

PORTLAND-Kurisu International Inc. recently sold its headquarters building here to Joseph Hughes Construction for about $1.4 million. The 8,200-sf building is located at 11125 SW Barbur Blvd.Joseph Hughes, a general contractor, is relocating and expanding its headquarters from a location in Tigard, OR. Kurisu, a landscape design-build firm, has moved its headquarters to a temporary location on Capitol Highway while it plans construction of a new headquarters.Joe Hughes cites increased business and the need for an expanded facility as the reason for selling the company’s Tigard Triangle facility and moving to Barbur Boulevard. The new headquarters features increased space and property as well as an onsite shop. The company moved into its news digs during the initial days of May. “We outgrew our old facility about three years ago and had been putting off a move until the right property became available,” he says. Kurisu plans to construct a new headquarters within the next two years. The company says it will be a LEED-certified “green” building. The location of the new headquarters has not yet been determined. The company’s temporary location is 9700 SW Capitol Hwy, Suite 240. The transaction was brokered by Chris Johnson, Joseph Vaughan and Sean Turley, all of locally based Norris, Beggs & Simpson.
