FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-Locally based Brenner Real Estate Group is actively looking for sites in Broward and Palm Beach counties in South Florida to develop or redevelop. “Generally our history has been commercial redevelopment,” says Scott Brenner of Brenner Real Estate Group. “We also see a niche in urban infill and affordable” housing, such as workforce housing, he says. The company looks to develop 100 to 200 units a year.”We’re currently working on a couple (of projects), and we’re close,” he says. While it was too soon to release details at press time, one of these involves a six-acre property in central Broward County.In addition, the company is waiting to get the zoning of a 182,000-sf warehouse it has in Oakland Park, FL, changed to residential for a high-density, for-sale multifamily project. And Brenner Real Estate Group has broken ground on a 460-space Corinthian College garage addition.Another current project, the Ellington at Victoria Park, a 50-unit luxury townhome complex, is in pre-sales for the final phase and has four townhomes left. This project is being developed by an affiliate of Brenner, Victoria Place LLC, of which Scott Brenner is a principal. The first two phases, consisting of 24 units, are built and sold. The remaining 26 units are under construction, with 14 of them to be delivered in August, and the other 12 to be delivered in October. The Ellington is being developed on 13 lots that included apartments, duplexes and triplexes. The Ellington, designed by Retzsch Lanao Caycedo Architects, is located on one block between Northeast 5th and Northeast 6th streets along Northeast 7th Avenue in Victoria Park.Besides development, Brenner Real Estate Group provides brokerage, sales investment, property management, asset management and receivership services for office, multifamily, industrial/commercial and retail properties.
