Federal Office Renews and Expands

BALTIMORE-Finding the 300,000-sf office building at 36 S. Charles St. to its liking, the US Attorney’s Office has decided to expand its 55,000-sf take by an additional 7,000 sf under a new 10-year lease. The decision comes not quite one year after the US Attorney’s office signed its 10-year lease on the original 55,000-sf space, to which it relocated from the local Federal Building.

Financial details of the transaction between the General Services Administration, which leases the space on behalf of the US Attorney’s office, and property owner Area 16B Associates LP, have not been released. However, Manekin LLC markets space at the class A property on the owner’s behalf for $22 per sf. While Mankekin represented Area 16B in the deal, Crown Partners stood in for the tenant.
