Menin Development Closes 18-Acre Purchase

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL-Menin Development Cos. Inc. of Jupiter, FL, has closed on its purchase of an 18-acre parcel adjacent to Shoppes at St. Lucie West in the city, where it plans to expand the shopping center more than 200,000 sf starting early next year. The seller of the land was Shoppes III LP.With Menin’s purchase of the shopping center earlier this year, the company has a total of 46 acres there. The Menin Development affiliate MDC Shoppes at St. Lucie West LLC bought the center, on St. Lucie West Boulevard between Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95, for $14.5 million. Currently Shoppes at St. Lucie West totals 201,000 sf. Menin Development Cos. owns, operates and/or has under development about 2 million sf of commercial, retail and medical space statewide. This includes $350 million in retail development in Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Port St. Lucie, Coconut Creek, Sunrise and West Palm Beach in South Florida.
