The move consolidates all of Fabric Place's main operations and warehousing under one roof, according to company CEO Alec Vezina. The warehouse and marketing functions, which had been located in an adjacent facility, now join the management team, IT, human resources and accounting departments which had previously been located at Fabric Place's original retail superstore at nearby 136 Howard St.
"The move accommodates our steady growth, as we continue to add staff, and it affords us greater synergy and efficiency for all operations," Vezina notes, adding that Fabric Place has an option to buy the building. The company also has plans to extend the space to make room for its growing custom design business.
Lease rates for this deal were not available, but the average asking rent for office space in Framingham ranges from $16 to $25 per sf. Fabric Place represented itself in the transaction, as did the property owner, Arlington Street Realty Trust.
