Designers Plan National Retail Expansion

NEW YORK CITY-PBS Realty, based here, will act as the exclusive national agent for British designer Ted Baker, women’s and children’s fashioner Petit Bateau and women’s clothier Elie Tahari to support each brand’s expansion needs. Baker, which has one store on Grand Street, wants to further expand throughout the US, while Petit Bateau, which has three East Coast stores and 130 international ones, will continue with an East Coast effort before moving westward. Tahari plans to grow from its now six retail and outlet operations.

PBS’ Laura Pomerantz and Bette Ende were tapped for the detail. “Designer brands have become more strategic than ever in planning their retail expansion plans, and are looking to their real estate partners for help in developing customized strategies that will enable them meet their corporate objectives,” says Pomerantz.
