Consulate General of Brazil Moving Into 16,200-SF Space

MIAMI-The consulate general, which has jurisdiction over Florida and other areas, signed a 10-year lease estimated to be worth around $5.2 million at Brickell Bayview Centre. The consulate general is relocating from nearby Coconut Grove.

MIAMI-In a long-term deal, the consulate general of Brazil has inked an approximately 16,200-sf, class A office space lease at Brickell Bayview Centre in the city. The 10-year lease begins in July. The consulate general plans to occupy the 26th floor at the building located at 80 S.W. Eighth St. Based on average rental rates in the area, the deal is estimated to be valued at nearly $5.2 million. “This new lease represents the growth of the consulate and the importance of its presence in Miami,” Cresa Partners senior vice president Steve Gaunt says in a statement. Gaunt represented the consulate general in the transaction.The consulate’s new location is convenient to its visitors, being near restaurants, hotels and other amenities, he says. The consulate general, which is relocating from 2601 S. Bayshore Dr. in Coconut Grove, FL, was able to get “very aggressive lease terms,” he adds.Continental Real Estate Co. represented Brookwood Bayview Investors LLC, the owner of Brickell Bayview Centre, in the lease.The consulate general of Brazil in Miami has jurisdiction over Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
