IFMA Teams Up With Australian Counterpart

HOUSTON-The International Facilities Management Association and its Australian counterpart, the Facility Management Association of Australia, are aligning to share services.

HOUSTON-The International Facilities Management Association is teaming up with its Australian counterpart, the Facility Management Association of Australia to share services, standards, research and knowledge about the facility management profession. The two trade organizations have signed a “Partners in Facility Management Excellence Agreement,” which enables members to use the services of each group at no extra cost and at a discount for events, training and publications. IFMA president and CEO David J. Brady says the partnership has been in development for many years. Steve Gladwin, FMA’s chairperson, remarks in a press release that the partnership will enable his organization to “add a new depth and perspective to our member’s offerings.” IFMA also has partnerships with the British Institute of Facilities Management and the Irish Property and Facility Management Association. This agreement comes on the heels of the announcement that IFMA and the European Facility Network will jointly host conferences abroad. Based in Houston, IFMA has approximately 17,000 members in 125 chapters. FMA Australia has 1,300 members with branches in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory.
