The building, when completed, will house two automotive suppliers, TDS US and Exel, which will perform logistics and some light manufacturing projects at the site. The companies supply DaimlerChrysler. The park is accessible from Interstate 94 and is being developed by CenTra, a Warren-based trucking firm that also owns the Ambassador Bridge, the Michigan Central Depot and other properties in and around the city.
The building now under construction is phase one of the park, which has room for about another half-dozen buildings, depending on their sizes. There is no timetable in place for the next tenant.
The Detroit Economic Growth Corp. and the Michigan Economic Growth Corp. are supporting the project, according to the city, with MEGC provided a $3.5-million grant to help finance the project.
