Previously, Eschelon's headquarters were located on several floors of the US Trust and Baker buildings in Downtown's Baker Center. The company now occupies two floors of three buildings--the Baker Center-US Trust, Investors and Roanoke--connected via a newly renovated skybridge that had been closed for more than 10 years.

"When additional space became a need for us, we were offered many incentives and subsidies to move our operations out of Downtown Minneapolis but we're committed to staying close to our customers," says Richard Smith, Eschelon's president and chief executive officer. But Smith says his Downtown headquarters would increase productivity and communication between various functions.

The transition to the new space was completed this month with the last of Eschelon's 453 corporate headquarters employees moving into the new offices. The remaining 400 Eschelon employees are based in the company's sales and service centers located in Golden Valley, MN; Denver; Portland, Salem and Eugene, OR; Seattle and Tacoma, WA; Reno, NV; Salt Lake City and Phoenix.
