The $26.8-million project, known as Mattapan Heights II, follows the redevelopment of both the Foley Building into mixed-income independent and assisted living for the elderly and of Building E as affordable housing for the Entre Familia program. The first phase of the project was completed in 2003.

"We count the Foley Building, the first phase of the campus' rehabilitation, among our city's great revitalization stories, so we are so excited to see the great potential for the entire campus take one step closer to becoming a reality today," says BRA director Mark Maloney.

All the rental units have been designated as affordable. The project also includes the redevelopment of the associated and surrounding spaces on the campus such as the pedestrian paths, roadways, courtyards, parking areas and other open spaces. The Boston Public Health Commission, the current owner of the campus, designated Trinity Financial, Inc to redevelop the former hospital site in 1999, and will also enter into a long-term ground lease with the developer.
