BOSTON-The board of directors of the Boston Redevelopment Authority approved the second phase of the Boston Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital revitalization. The plan involves rehabilitating five vacant buildings on nearly 10 acres of the 27-acre campus in Mattapan into 83 units of affordable rental housing.
The $26.8-million project, known as Mattapan Heights II, follows the redevelopment of both the Foley Building into mixed-income independent and assisted living for the elderly and of Building E as affordable housing for the Entre Familia program. The first phase of the project was completed in 2003.
