Garibaldi principal Peter D. Blanchard and associate vice president Michael McDonough, along with James P. Southey, a partner of King Sturge, arranged the signing. Garibaldi handles Whatman's real estate requirements in the US, while King Sturge handles the company's requirements in Europe. Garibaldi and King Sturge are both Corfac affiliates.

The deal is the fifth Garibaldi has done recently for Whatman. Totaling more than 200,000 sf, the assignments have included an 84,000-sf industrial lease in Sanford, ME, a 32,000-sf office sublease in Ann Arbor, MI, a 25,000-sf sublease in Newton, MA and a 55,000-sf industrial sale in Clifton, NJ.

Whatman, which is based in the UK, will utilize the space as an operational headquarters. The company is organized into four business development units: analytical chemistry, diagnostics, genomics and proteomics and medical devices.
