The mall is owned by Simon Property Group of Indianapolis. When the new Barnes & Noble opens, the existing B. Dalton store in the Maplewood Mall will close.
The store will stock close to 200,000 books, music, DVDs and magazine titles and include a cafe serving Starbucks coffee. The new store will feature large-scale children's departments with more than 15,000 titles, a music-listening system featuring RedDotNet technology, which allows customers to listen to any CD in the store, and a newsstand with more than 2,000 specialty magazines and newspapers.
Barnes & Noble has 653 bookstores in 49 states, 188 B. Dalton Bookseller stores, primarily in regional shopping malls, and a 63% interest in GameStop, a video game and entertainment software specialty retailer with 1,603 stores.
