Famous Footwear to Open 7,000-SF Store in Saugus Plaza

SAUGUS, MA-Famous Footwear leases 7,409 sf at Saugus Plaza, a 209,125-sf retail center on Route One. The plaza, which is currently being retenanted, is located at the Walnut Street exchange and is anchored by Kohl's Department Store and Wild Oats Market.

SAUGUS, MA-Famous Footwear is leasing 7,409 sf at Saugus Plaza, a 209,125-sf retail center on Route One. Saugus Plaza, which is currently being retenanted, is located at the Walnut Street exchange. Existing tenants at the center include Kohl’s Department Store, Wild Oats Market and Brooks Pharmacy. Kohl’s opened its new location this past April in the former Ames at the center.

Don Mace, vice president of leasing for Finard & Co LLC represented property owner, Saugus Realty Limited Partnership in the transaction, while Ami Cippola of the Triad Group represented Famous Footwear. Mace tells GlobeSt.com that there is currently a lot of demand for retail space in the area and a lot of activity in the market. “Saugus is now its own market,” says Mace, who notes that retailers are realizing that even if they have stores in Peabody or Danvers they can open a second store in Saugus.”
