Opus Group Begins Building Schulze Hall

MINNEAPOLIS-Opus Group will build the $22-million four-story, 86,000-sf structure on the Downtown campus of the University of St. Thomas. The building will be located at 11th Street and Harmon Place and should be ready to open September 2005.

MINNEAPOLIS-Construction recently began on Schulze Hall, the $22-million four-story, 86,000-sf structure that will house the College of Business’ Schulze School of Entrepreneurship, on the Minneapolis campus of the University of St. Thomas. The hall and School of Entrepreneurship are named for Best Buy Co. founder Richard Schulze.

The cost of the new hall is being funded through a $50 million gift made in 2000 by Schulze and his late wife, Sandra. Schulze Hall, like the first three St. Thomas buildings in Minneapolis, was designed by Opus Architects & Engineers. The contractor for all four buildings is Opus Northwest Construction Corp. Both are units of the Opus Group, the commercial real estate firm based in Minnetonka, MN.
